Health
Parents should note on registration forms if their children suffer from any health problems, such as asthma or diabetes, and/or whether they have any disabilities or learning difficulties. Details of any injuries or accidents that occur during lessons will be recorded in the accident book.
Child Protection
All L&M Swimming Club teachers have Enhanced Checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service (formerly the CRB). We are committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment to our swimmers. The Club believes that the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility and that all children have the right to have fun, be safe and to be protected from harm. The Club has ZERO tolerance of any form of bullying: verbal, physical, electronic or any other form. Please contact Lesley Ryland or Moira Brooks for any help or advice on this topic.
Photography
Without exception, there must be NO photography in the changing areas. Parents may photograph their own children & other children may be included in the shot as long as they are not the main subject of the photograph and only then with the permission of their parent/carers. Parents/carers have the right to refuse to have their children photographed. All photographs must observe generally accepted standards of decency. Swimming teachers and parents/carers should be vigilant regarding the use of mobile phones for photography and report any concerns to either Lesley Ryland or Moira Brooks.
Equality
We are committed to treating everyone equally, regardless of gender, ethnic origin, religion, disability, sexuality, age or political persuasion.
Changing Areas
Swimmers under the age of 8yrs should use the appropriate male / female changing area depending on the gender of the accompanying adult. Swimmers over the age of 8 yrs should use the changing area appropriate to their gender. The accompanying adult may only enter the changing area if of the same gender. Gender neutral swimmers should use the disabled toilet as a changing cubicle.
Swimwear
Swimwear should be opaque and in good moral taste. Swimming hats must be worn at all venues & swim nappies must be worn by younger swimmers.
