If you live in Woldingham, your swimming lessons need not involve a drive at all. L&M Swimming Club teaches at the Woldingham School pool on Marden Park, and has done for years.
We are a local club rather than a national chain — founded in Caterham in 1993 by Lesley Ryland and Moira Brooks, and still run by them. Woldingham families have been part of the club for most of that time, and a good number of the children we teach now are the children of swimmers we taught in the 1990s.
Classes are grouped by ability rather than strictly by age, so a cautious six-year-old and a confident five-year-old are each in the right place. Families join us from across this corner of Surrey, including neighbouring Caterham, Warlingham and Oxted.
The Woldingham School Pool
The pool at Woldingham School is a four-lane competitive pool with diving blocks and lane ropes, measuring 12.5m by 25m with a maximum depth of 2m.
It suits swimmers who are past the first splash — those working on proper stroke technique, building distance, or training towards competition.
Younger and more nervous beginners are often better suited to our Caterham pool, which is warmer and has a shallow area around 45cm deep. Lesley and Moira will happily advise which of the two would suit your child best.

Qualified & Checked
All instructors are Swim England qualified and hold Enhanced DBS checks. We are members of the Institute of Swimming and hold STA safety accreditation.
Small Groups, Warm Water
Classes are kept small so every swimmer gets attention, and our Caterham pool is held at a constant 30°C.
